Grassroots democracy
As you know, over the past three months Voices of Franklin (VoF) has been searching for community-minded individuals to support in the upcoming Huon Legislative Council election in May 2026. Potential candidates have gone through a selection process and interviews, and now it is up to Voices of Franklin members and the wider Huon community to have the final say.
With this in mind we are hosting a free event with the next potential representative for Huon, Clare Glade-Wright. This is your chance to meet Clare and decide whether you’d like to support her as the Voices of Franklin endorsed candidate.
Food and drink will be available from the wonderful Grand Hotel staff. There will be a Q&A hosted by the Voices of Franklin team, along with plenty of opportunities to mingle and chat.
It’s important that as many people as possible are involved in this process, so come along and bring your friends!
Prior to the event, Clare will send a letter to Voices of Franklin members so you have time to do your research and formulate questions.
To make sure you receive the letter, please ensure you are signed up as a VoF member here: https://www.voicesoffranklin.org/get-involved/join
If you can’t make the event but would still like to be involved in this process, please sign up using the link above (if you haven’t already). Someone from Voices of Franklin will contact you to make sure you have your say.
Please email voicesoffranklintas@gmail.com with any other questions, concerns, or special requirements.
Thanks again for all the support, donations and feedback this year.
It’s shaping up to be an exciting start to 2026!
