Voices of Franklin

Clarence · Huon Valley · Kingborough

Just as economics is too important to be left to economists, so too politics is too important to be left to politicians.

If you want stronger democracy but don’t like political parties, then Voices of Franklin (VoF) could be for you!

Like many other Voices groups around Australia, we follow in the tradition of Voices for Indi (Victoria) that helped get independent Cathy McGowan elected to federal parliament in 2013 and 2016.

The people of Indi got fed up with not being represented by their federal member, who happened to be a Liberal, and the rest is history. People power prevailed in a supposedly safe Liberal seat. We say there are no safe seats when the people decide to take control and elect someone who puts the electorate first.

VoF wants our elected representatives to – first and foremost – act in the interests of the electorate by listening to the people.
